The funny thing about Hip-Hop in schools is that the people running the classes generally don’t have anything to do with the culture. They weren’t listening to Hip-Hop before it became a class, and I still don’t feel like they’re listening for the love of it. How many of those professors “relate” to the lyrics or the artists? I have a feeling the answer is few, if any at all.
Lindsay Lohan is her own personal punchline.
Yeah…not everybody identifies with African-American. Granted, if you’re black your ancestors way back came from Africa, but even still, not everybody sees it that way.
Listen To M.P.L.S. is a Minneapolis based podcast hosted by FranzDiego.com and Alicia Steele. It is based on Minneapolis life, love, music, people, parties, relationships, art, work, and anything else! We often have excellent guests too!
